It is the policy of this facility that all residents staff, and visitors conform the most current guidance from the Centers of Disease Control.

Our goal is to provide the opportunity for residents and loved ones to spend quality time together within the center, or outside if the weather is accommodating.

Optional Masking Policy & Procedure (June 2023)

  • Do I need to wear a mask?

If there are no active cases of COVID in the center and the county is within the allowed standards as reported, wearing masks will be voluntary for staff, families, and residents.

In the event of an active case or county levels exceed guidelines, masks will be mandatory until both areas are in compliance and notification will occur.

  • How is mask wearing determined?

The wearing of masks may be dictated by the Medical Director based upon their medical judgement and the specific circumstances.

  • When is it necessary to wear a mask?

Masks will be worn by staff and visitors for “post covid” admissions only in their room. This will be discontinued at such time they are able to leave their room.

  • How are staff screened?

All staff who are symptomatic and fail the covid screening questionnaire must be tested before going to the floor.

  • What if a staff member tests positive for COVID?

All employees that test positive for COVID-19 are to remain at home for a minimum of 5 days and return wearing an N95 for an additional 5 days, or two negative tests.

Any staff refusing to test per Abbey/CDC guidelines will be subject to disciplinary action up to and including termination.

  • What if a resident tests positive for COVID?

Should any resident test positive, all residents on that particular floor will be tested on days 1, 3 and 5. Anyone on that floor will wear masks.

All residents that test positive are to be isolated according to CDC, CMS and DHSS guidelines.

Any resident refusing to test per Abbey/CDC guidelines will be isolated in their room for ten 10 days as a precautionary measure.
